Michael Lacey is a well known mathematician. He was born in the United States on September 25, 1959. Mr. Lacey graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987, when he received his Ph.D. When Lacey received his PhD, it was under the direction of Walter Philipp. The thesis that Michael Lacey wrote about was the probability of Banach spaces. He also solved a problem that was in relation to empirical characteristic functions and law of the iterated logarithm. He held post doctoral positions at both University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Louisiana State University. While Mr. Lacey worked at the University of North Carolina, he and Walter Philipp were able to show proof of the central limit theorem. Mr. Lacey has spent countless hours studying math and learning the techniques needed to be a successful mathematician.
From 1989 to 1996, he worked at Indiana University. Michael Lacey has held a job since 1996 as the Professor of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He became a member of the American Mathematical Society in 2012. Michael Lacey has been the director of training grants such as MCPT, VIGRE and NSF.
